Seakeeper's Foundation
Funding the marine scientists protecting the ocean from the inside out.
The Seakeeper's Foundation funds marine scientists, ocean researchers, and conservation programs working to understand and protect the seas. From coral reef restoration to deep-water biodiversity studies, they back the rigorous, evidence-based science that gives ocean conservation its teeth. One of the things that drew me to them specifically is their citizen science program — they place oceanographic data collection equipment aboard private yachts, turning cruising sailors into a distributed research fleet. Real science, collected by real sailors, on passages that would happen anyway. When you choose the Seakeeper's Foundation at checkout, your 15% goes directly to funding that work.
I used to be a biochemist — marine stuff, ocean chemistry, that world. I'm not in the lab anymore, but the science still matters to me. This is my way of staying connected to it from a different kind of deck.
Cruiser Emergency Fund
For sailors in crisis. Not for cruising. Never for us.
The Cruiser Emergency Fund is a dedicated reserve for liveaboard and offshore sailors facing genuine emergencies — medical crises abroad, catastrophic boat damage, emergency repatriation, or situations where a sailor is stranded with no resources. This fund is completely separate from any personal cruising account. It will never be used for our own sailing expenses — not fuel, not repairs, not provisions. Every dollar stays in the fund until a qualifying sailor needs it.
The Cruiser Emergency Fund is held in a dedicated account entirely separate from any personal or business cruising funds. It is never used for Nautism's own sailing expenses under any circumstances.
