The Story

sv_nautism

A boat. A life. A reason to give back.

How It Started

Nautism Wasn't a Plan

It started the way most good things do — sideways. I spent years as a biochemist, deep in marine chemistry, watching the ocean from the lab side of the glass. Then life did what life does, and I ended up on the other side of it. Literally.

Nautism is the Instagram handle, the brand, and the boat's identity rolled into one. The name is a play on words — part nautical, part something else entirely. If you've met a sailor, you probably get it.

The Boat

sv_nautism is a bluewater cruising sailboat. She's not new, she's not perfect, and she's not for sale. She's a working boat — the kind that gets you somewhere real, not just somewhere pretty. Every mile on her is a mile earned.

Why Nautism Exists

Merch With a Point

Most sailing merch is either too serious or too cute. Nautism is neither. The designs are weird on purpose. The humor is dry. The references are inside jokes for people who've actually been offshore, fixed something with a zip tie, or used a bucket when the head broke.

But underneath the jokes, there's a real reason this exists. Fifteen percent of net profits go to marine conservation and the Cruiser Emergency Fund. Not because it's good marketing — because the ocean is worth protecting and sailors sometimes need help.
